| APRIL 22nd - Montague county, TX
|
CHASERS: Bobby Eddins, Michael Cohen
NOWCASTING: Ed Cohen
|
SUMMARY:
With the dryline in southern Oklahoma my chase partner, Mike Cohen ay myself headed north towards our target near Ardmore, OK. Just after crossing the Red River a call from Ed Cohen, Mike's brother alerted us that the best looking storm was SW of Bowie, TX and it was moving slowly ENE. We soon turned around and plotted an intercept which took us back south of the river to Ganesville, TX. We took HWY 82 west to Saint Jo, TX and FM 677 south. We could see a nice anvil to our southwest while still east of Saint Jo and from a few miles south on FM 677 just as a tornado warning came out we spotted a distant funnel with rotation and apparant ground contact. Never could confirm this but the storm structure made this chase well worth the trip either way.
