Lamesa, TX
On June 4, 1995 after little success we finally drove south of Lubbock for
tail-end-charlie and found this incredible bell-shaped LP supercell northwest
of Lamesa, Tx. This storm displayed a beautiful visual-vault and a rapidly
growing beaver-tail. You could see this feature grow to the east-southeast.
We could hear a dull hail-roar and heard reports of large hail to our west.
As we moved south of Lamesa and approached the storm from the east a new
beaver-tail formed just to our northwest. We watched a wall-cloud occlude
to our west. What a great twisting storm! Watch that lightning! Just as
everyone gets back in their vehicles a very close lightning strike hits
directly in front of us. "You got it!" |

This storm really made me wish I had a wider lense. Awesome! |
